Often when we think of fitness, it's cardio that instantly comes to mind. However, strength and resistance training is important for your Old Mate, too.

Resistance training can improve and strengthen muscles - making every day activities like stairs and getting out chairs easier. It can also help to avoid falls.


  • Always talk to a physician before undertaking any strenuous physical activity with your Old Mate. Always.


  • Even if you don't have access to a gym, there are many basic activities you and your Old Mate can do in at home, in a park, etc. Below are some stability exercises you and your Old Mate might try:
